Extraction technology
Hexane, a petroleum-based solvent
Aliphatic hydrocarbon obtained during petroleum refining. Massively used to extract vegetable oils.
Proven neurotoxic · identified as a substance of very high concern (ECHA, December 2025) · residues found in oils · volatile and flammable
Supercritical CO₂, a clean alternative
From 73 bars and 31°C, CO₂ becomes supercritical, neither gas nor liquid, combining the diffusion of a gas and the solvent power of a liquid. Extraction without traces, without waste. CO₂ is captured, compressed and reused in a closed circuit. Zero hexane, zero water, zero preservatives, 100% circular.
Zero petrochemical solvent
No trace of hydrocarbons in extracted oils.
Circular process
CO₂ recovered and reinjected at every cycle.
No environmental discharge
Neither water nor soil contamination.
Higher active concentration
Oils directly integrable in cosmetic formulations.
Rice grain composition

From rice bran to finished ingredient
1
Rice milling
White rice production generates rice bran as a co-product. Sourced within the Albufera de Valencia rice-growing area, one of the oldest in the Mediterranean.
2
Stabilisation and preparation
Rice bran stabilised immediately after milling to prevent rancidity. Processed within a 20 km radius of the production site.
3
Supercritical CO₂ extraction
CO₂ compressed to 73 bars and 31°C becomes supercritical. Extracts the active oil fraction without any solvent, hexane or water. Patent EP3766950 (granted EU/US/JP).
4
Molecular distillation
Oil refining to reach the three OryzActive activity levels (Base, Shield, Intense). Wax removal and active concentration adjustment.
5
OryzActive + OryzaCare
The extracted oil constitutes OryzActive. The defatted solid residue constitutes OryzaCare. Zero solid waste. 100% of the bran converted into finished cosmetic ingredient.
100% of the rice bran co-product is converted into finished cosmetic ingredients. Zero solid waste. Zero petrochemical solvent. CO₂ captured and reinjected in a closed circuit at every extraction cycle.
γ-Oryzanol, the active molecule

Gamma-oryzanol is the rice bran complex behind the OryzActive oils: the synergy
of ferulic acids, which carry the antioxidant power, and plant sterols, which
provide lipid compatibility. Together they drive the photoactivation,
photostability and antioxidant profile of the range.
